How we select and describe jobs
Last updated: 7 August 2026
Publication control
Each incoming advert is kept as a raw source record and assigned one of three editorial states: accepted, ambiguous or rejected. A supported role phrase in the title can be accepted automatically. Evidence found only in the description is held for review. A listing with no relevant role evidence is not published.
Every decision stores the matched role, the field and excerpt that triggered it, and a reason. Duplicate adverts are grouped by a normalised title, company and location fingerprint. Duplicate rows are retained but only one is exposed publicly.
Freshness and structured data
The public update date changes only when material advert content changes. A source saying that it saw the same advert again does not create a new content date. JobPosting structured data and sitemap inclusion are limited to accepted jobs with a sufficiently complete source description. Adzuna search descriptions are snippets, so those pages do not receive JobPosting markup.
Evidence labels
Detected in advert means the words appeared in the supplied advert text. It is not independent verification. Employer confirmed will be used only if an employer directly verifies the fact. No current listing is silently treated as employer confirmed.
